Are you a student that receives the Federal Pell Grant? If yes, read carefully!
Your Federal Pell Grant is scheduled to disburse to your tuition account on our standard timeline – about 10 days before the first day of class for the Fall 2017 semester. The amount of Federal Pell Grant that you will receive is directly related to your enrollment status at the time of disbursement (Full-Time, Three Quarter-, Half-, or Less than Half-Time).
However, Federal Pell Grant regulations require that our office confirm your enrollment at a single point in time during the semester – called the Pell Census. In the past, this census was always done on the first day of class each semester, but beginning Fall 2017 the Pell Census will always occur at the end of the last day to add/swap a course without departmental permission or drop a course and receive a 100% tuition refund each semester.
For Fall 2017, we will be confirming your enrollment at 11:59 pm on Friday, September 15, the last day to add/swap a course without department permission or drop a course and receive a 100% tuition refund.
If your enrollment status changes during this period, we will adjust the amount of your disbursed Federal Pell Grant accordingly and we will notify you via email. If the adjustment results in a reduction to your Federal Pell Grant, you will be required to repay the excess funds you received to the Bursar’s Office.
