A old school paper ticket that says FAFSA Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Free for all Need Help filling our your FAFSA? We're here to help!

Fridays are for FAFSA & Financial Aid help!

October 1st is a big day at the Office of Student Financial Aid each year – it’s the day the FREE Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for next year (2023-24) becomes available to complete and submit!

We’ll be hosting another fall filled with FAFSA Frenzy events most Fridays from 12 – 2 pm at locations around campus.

Bring your laptop.  We’ll bring our team of experts to help you through the FAFSA and answer ANY of your financial aid questions.

Oh, and we’ll bring FREE LUNCH, too!

FAFSA Frenzy events are open to ALL students. More information about FAFSA Frenzy and community support can be found online www.financialaid.wisc.edu/frenzy. Or follow us on FacebookTwitter, or Instagram to get regular updates on upcoming events.

Need accommodations or have dietary restrictions we should know about so you can attend? Let us know!

Can’t make a FAFSA Frenzy event? The OSFA team of experts is also available to help when you schedule a one-on-one appointment (in-person or virtual) through the Starfish tool in your My UW portal.

Make your goal to have your 2023-24 FAFSA submitted by our December 1, 2022 priority date!

Have things changed?

The 2023-24 FAFSA will be based on your 2021 federal tax information.  We know a lot has happened to our students and their families financially in the last several years – so we can understand that the income you’re reporting on that FAFSA may no longer be accurate.  You can let our team know of your special circumstances and we may be able to use that new information as a professional judgement and adjust your eligibility for financial aid.  Read more about special circumstances and professional judgement on our website, https://financialaid.wisc.edu/applying/#SpecialCircumstance.

Help us better understand your costs.

Our team is working to better understand the costs for students to attend UW-Madison, and we’d love your help! Please take a few minutes to tell us about your expenses by completing this survey.  Your response will help us calculate average costs for students and ultimately help us provide accurate financial aid to you and your fellow Badgers.
