Kristen McRoberts serves as the Associate Director for Systems at the Office of Student Financial aid at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In this role, Kristen is charged with leading a team of business analyst and developers in creating, maintaining and identifying opportunities to effectively administer over $470M in student aid annually to over 30,000 students. As a former Pell eligible student, Kristen is passionate about removing barriers to access and creating a seamless enrollment experience for students and their families. Since joining the team in 2014, the team has been honored with three administrative improvement awards: (1) developing a new verification policy and transitioning to a digital submission of verification documents, (2) Student Information System Optimization Program and update to Campus Solutions 9.2 and (3) Combined Tuition and Housing Bill Project. Additionally, Kristen is serving a 3 year term on the Advisory Group for the Higher Education User Group (HEUG) for Financial Aid, which is an advocacy group formed to support the Financial Aid Community by communicating with our Oracle representatives regarding enhancement requests and compliance items set forth by the Department of Education.
Prior to joining the team, Kristen began her career in higher education when she worked for the largest community colleges system in Illinois and one of the largest in the nation. She graduated cum laude from Loyola University of Chicago where she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Marketing.
Kristen is a proud Midwesterner, wife and mother of 3 young children. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
