The No Fees Project

The No Fees Project seeks to remove campus Cost of Experience (CoE) fees for all Federal Pell Grant-eligible and UW Promise Program undergraduate students.

University Housing

Housing & Enrollment Deposit Waiver

Covers $250 housing deposit and $100 enrollment deposit. $350 total.

Learning Community Fee Waiver

Provides populations of low-income students who enroll in learning communities the benefit of participation with no added programming costs. Complete the request form.

Office of Student Transition and Family Engagement

Eligible students participate in SOAR with up to two parents/guests at no cost; Summer SOAR also includes on-campus housing and parking.

Placement Testing

UW-Madison requires students to complete the Math B placement test. Eligible students will receive financial assistance to cover the $40 Math B Placement test fee. Students receive notification of eligibility when scheduling their testing appointment.

Recreation & Wellbeing

Participate in a variety of Rec Well activities at no additional charge including Nutrition Ed, Skate Passes, Group Swimming/Skating Lessons, Tennis Court & Racquet Rental, Intramural Sports, and Group Fitness. Follow the steps for adding a qualifying course to receive a waiver.

Fraternity & Sorority Life

Offers the FSL Community Contribution Fee Waiver to eligible students who may have financial insecurity or be on campus as part of certain scholarship programs. Additional information on what the fee waiver covers is provided by FSL.

Commencement

Eligible undergraduate and graduate students can apply for the Regalia Scholarship, a waiver for a graduation regalia (cap and gown) rental, through the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub.

Typically, the application will be available to eligible students 75 days before the commencement date and the application will close 40 days before commencement date. Questions can be directed to commence@chancellor.wisc.edu

Hoofers

The Hoofer Ambassadors Access Fund is intended to promote diversity and accessibility by decreasing financial barriers to the outdoors. Hoofers, through the Access Fund, intends to foster inclusivity and provide individuals with new experiences through the six Hoofer Clubs: Mountaineering, Outing, Riding, Sailing, Scuba, and Ski & Snowboard.
