Micaela Salas serves as a Financial Aid Advisor and Basic Needs Specialist in the Office of Student Financial Aid. She completed her bachelor’s degree at UW-Madison in 2012, majoring in Social Welfare and American Indian Studies.  During her time as an undergraduate student she worked as an information specialist for the Office of Student Financial Aid.  Micaela is now back at the University and in year three of the Master of Social Work program.  She has a passion for social justice and advocacy. She views higher education as a vehicle of social mobility, especially for those that are coming from underprivileged backgrounds. After completion of her program she hopes to continue her work with Native communities. She was born and raised on the Bad River Reservation and tries to visit as much as possible.  Outside of work, Micaela enjoys spending time with her two children Ari and Vivian.
