Jeff “JP” Pfund directs the Student Loan Servicing team and is an Assistant Director for the Office of Student Financial Aid at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has over 25 years of management experience in financial wellness, personal finance, signature loans, car loans, educational funding, real estate, and financial aid. On campus he has specialized in student loan recoveries, default aversion, goal management, compliance, program development, and assisting students who wish to re-enter school. Within the UW-Madison campus community he has stressed the importance of caring for alumni by being a lender of patience, not a lender of demand, and supporting student retention, persistence, and completion goals. JP sat on the Coalition of Higher Education Assistance Organization (COHEAO) Board of Directors as a past Vice President, serves on the Selection Committee of UW-Madison’s Go Big Read (first year common book)program, assists returning adult students via the UW Odyssey Project/Odyssey Beyond Bars (student inmate initiative), is the Campus Contact Administrator for Billing and Collection subcontractors for the 13 UW System schools, and is a past Planning Chief for the UW-Madison Emergency Operations Center. He is a frequent speaker at the local, regional, and national level for best practices within the industry. JP was awarded Member of the Year by COHEAO in 2016 when the Federal Perkins Loan program was renewed by Congress and received Special Recognition from the Wisconsin Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (WASFAA) in 2023 for his education advocacy work. Jeff attended the Univ. of Singapore, Madison College, and graduated from Luther College with a double major in Economics and Political Science.
